LIGHT SEEKER Summer Internship Program

I’m a second‑year master’s student in Business Administration at National Taiwan University, passionate about industrial and organizational psychology. After interning in finance, I realized that rigid, SOP‑driven environments weren’t for me.

During the two‑month internship, I worked on:

• ESG Project: Planning a mountain‑cleaning activity
• BU Project: Independently completing a full employer‑branding survey project, from design to analysis and visualization

My mentor gave consistent guidance and even invited me to join Lite‑On’s Super Star club—we filmed a dance cover MV and are performing at the annual banquet. I never expected an internship to be this fun.

The highlight was LIGHT SEEKER DAY, where I presented two months of BU project. I learned how to deliver clear value and communicate effectively. Despite tech‑industry stereotypes, Lite‑On offered flexible hours and open communication. Interns meet the Chairman monthly, ask questions directly, and join major meetings—making me feel genuinely valued.

Before the internship, I struggled to choose between HR and data. Lite‑On helped me see I could combine both—using analysis and insights to support organizational decisions. This experience opened new possibilities, and I received both an internship extension and a pre‑offer. I’m excited to return after graduation and take on new challenges.

In my BU project, I developed an automated testing software. It wasn’t just about writing code—it required constant communication with the team, understanding real needs, and refining the solution again and again. What made me most proud was seeing the final tool not only solve an immediate issue but also be adopted by the department for future workflows. It was the first time I truly felt that my work created lasting value.

One of my most memorable experiences was meeting Chairman Tom in person. He genuinely cared about how we were doing and emphasized the company’s commitment to the LIGHT SEEKER program. Over the past two months, I had the opportunity to build an AI Agent from scratch—integrating large language models with tool‑calling to create a chatbot that genuinely helps users. I knew from day one that this would be a challenging project, and it truly pushed me to my limits. But looking back now, the experience gave me far more than I ever expected.

What made this project special was that it wasn’t just about coding. It felt like designing a complete end‑to‑end solution:

• Needs Analysis: Understanding user pain points and defining clear goals
• System Architecture: Designing a scalable and reliable framework
• Conversation Flow: Creating natural, intuitive user interactions
• Product Implementation: Turning ideas into a working prototype

Throughout the journey, I tackled challenges like memory management, tool‑calling coordination, and real‑time validation. Thanks to my mentor’s guidance and support, I eventually built a workflow that reduced tasks originally taking 10–15 minutes down to just 3 minutes. The sense of accomplishment was incredible.

But beyond the project, what truly made this internship meaningful were the people.
My mentor Albert patiently guided me through every debugging session and helped turn concepts into real features. The HR team played an equally important role—Joy Yu offered valuable career advice, while Polly and Vicky encouraged me to recognize my strengths and step beyond my comfort zone.
