Trying to Change, Facing it Bravely

"Coming to LITEON was a kind of destiny," says Chloe. She graduated from the Graduate Institute of Business Administration at National Taipei University. She was interested in HR during her studies, and her master's thesis focused on HR topics. After graduating, she worked as an HR professional in tech companies for many years, gaining rich experience. In her senior year, she thought the pain on the inside of her left knee was a sports injury. It wasn't until she finished her master's entrance exams, a month before graduate school started, that doctors diagnosed her with a rare form of osteosarcoma (bone cancer). Chloe underwent treatment while completing her master's degree. However, after working for a few years, the cancer recurred repeatedly, leading to multiple surgeries. During the last recurrence, doctors told her that to prevent metastasis, her left leg might need to be amputated. Amputation wasn't an easy decision, but Chloe only had a month to consider it. In the end, she mustered the courage to face it.

Changing jobs was the same. At the time, less than six months had passed since her amputation surgery, and her body hadn't fully recovered. But she thought that rather than waiting until she was fully recovered to switch jobs, "If I don't try to change, time will just slowly pass by."

So during her interview at LITEON, Chloe honestly disclosed her physical condition. Upon hearing this, the interviewer, Sam, asked: "Do you think others won't hire you because of your condition?"

Unexpectedly, this choice gradually became the stage where he invested a massive amount of time.

During off-seasons, a single practice session lasts up to three and a half hours—fitness and skill training are like laying a foundation. During competition seasons, it ramps up to three to five days a week, five hours a day, with total immersion. Ting-An laughs, saying this intensity is practically on par with varsity team preparations, allowing him to cultivate stability, endurance, and a sense of detail through repetitive practice, time and time again.

The moment he steps onto the competition stage, as the lights hit and the music starts, he isn't distracted by the cheers from the outside world. Instead, he refocuses his attention on the basic movements and choreography he has prepared for so long. This absolute focus and stability is the moment he feels his own existence most profoundly.
