"ESG IS NOT A COMPETITION, BUT A SHARED GOAL AND JOURNEY FOR ALL OF US" |
Tom Soong, LITEON Chairman and Chief Sustainability Officer
Since its establishment in 1975, LITEON has always upheld sincerity, moved forward courageously, and collaborated with our partners to achieve the common good, addressing rapid social changes and global shifts. Whether in technological innovation or sustainable development, the support and expectations of stakeholders have always been our most important foundation.
LITEON is dedicated to shouldering responsibilities and tackling complex environmental and social issues. We welcome corporate partners with shared goals, schools, social enterprises, NGOs, and civic groups to work hand in hand with us towards a more promising future.
LITEON Collection Social Enterprise Platform
LITEON opened a new company store "LITEON Collection" in 2023 to create a shared connection and participation platform with social enterprises/NGO partners. “小時候 Xiao Shi Hou" translates to "Little Shops. Limited Time. Selected Items". The products are based on the principles of "responsible production and consumption" to convey a deep concern for the ecological environment and social humanities through sustainable production and consumption behaviors. This approach makes it easier to implement sustainable actions in daily life, achieving greater social good.
The "Xiao Shi Hou" series of product selections pays attention to every detail of product manufacturing. Each selected product is developed and produced with a craftsman’s spirit, with a story of sustainability behind each product. Whether it involves personally exploring mountains and fields to gather raw materials, meticulously collecting and organizing recyclable resources, or utilizing disappearing artisanal techniques from the past, overcoming these challenges is what makes the selected items so valuable. LITEON Collection has an entire audio-visual story wall to help partners promote sustainability marketing. Through the work of these social enterprises and creators, we can see a better vision for the future. Listen to their stories and let sustainability enter our daily lives through these products for self use or gifts to spread warm and positive energy. LITEON continues to work with partners around the world to create a greener, healthier, and fairer future.
Humanity, reliant on the myriad of life for survival, finds stability and enduring prosperity in strengthening its network with all living things. Spring marks a global call to action for the conservation of forests, wildlife, water resources, and our Earth. The ‘Symbiosis with Mountains and Rivers’ series, launched as the inaugural theme for the April 2023 opening of the LITEON Collection, advocated for the wise use of ecological resources and the prevention of environmental pollution and depletion.
Marine issues have gained increasing attention in recent years. As a pioneer moving from observation to action, LITEON combines its own core corporate capabilities, and infuses the ‘ocean protection’ DNA into the corporate mission, to respond to the UN SDG14 ‘Sustainable Oceans and Conservation’. While there are no quick fixes for ocean problems, it is foreseeable that with more companies standing up for the ocean, sustainable development of the ocean will eventually be achieved. LITEON Collection, with the theme of ‘The tides never cease’ for the summer of 2023, promoted the continuous fermentation of social innovation actions to protect the ocean, just like LITEON’s persistent spirit of ‘leading by example, joining hands with partners’, influencing more people to become ‘ocean protectors’.

Mindful Consumption: An Introduction to Practicing a Sustainable Lifestyle
LITELON has long been committed to environmental protection and circular economy initiatives. In an era focused on achieving net-zero transformation, the company recognizes its role as both a key actor and an influencer. Aware of the environmental concerns arising from the annual Double 11 Shopping Festival, which stimulates consumption but also poses pollution risks, LITEON proposes a green consumption behavior initiative. Starting from daily life, the initiative invites corporate partners and the public to participate in the "-1111 EcoRevolve Shopping Fair," which focuses on sustainability and culminates in public welfare.
The "-1111 EcoRevolve Shopping Fair" aims to make every purchase more meaningful. It’s not just about giving new life to old items but also embodying the spirit of "Easy to work with, Willing to share." The initiative inspires goodwill from all participants, allowing people to contribute to both the environment and public welfare through their consumption choices. By collaborating with non-profit organizations and charitable institutions, it amplifies positive impact, spreading goodness far and wide. The event encourages friends from all walks of life to engage in friendly shopping, practice the principle of maximizing the use of resources, and create an endless cycle of love through "Circular Treasure Shopping".
The Exclusive Charity Event Co-Hosted by 22 Companies in Taiwan:
A High-Value, Large-Scale Secondhand Charity Market
A passionate journey with a touch of rain, reminiscent of an adventure of our roots.
After nearly seven months of meticulous planning, the "-1111 EcoRevolve Shopping Fair", co-hosted by LITEON and 22 companies, concluded on November 2 under the golden hues of the setting sun.
Upholding the core spirit of "Easy to work with, Willing to share," LITEON Chairman and Chief Sustainability Officer Tom Soong personally invited various corporate partners to participate in creating Taiwan’s largest inter-industry secondhand charity market. Partners from all walks of life joined hands to advocate the "value of circular economy" through meaningful stories tied to preloved items. Participants became both "sellers of stories" and "buyers of stories," turning the event into a practical example of green consumption and sustainable living.
Gather partners from different industries to jointly promote the infinite cycle of love.
Partnering with various NGOs, the event shone brightly despite the rainy weather, with attendees braving the elements with confidence and hope. From drizzle to clear skies, the charity secondhand market, brimming with incredible value, attracted early crowds eager to treasure hunt.
All proceeds from the circular economy sales by participating companies were donated to 14 diverse charitable organizations across six key sectors: disability support, women and children’s welfare, youth education, rural sports, medical services, animal protection, and environmental conservation. This initiative ensures that positive impacts continue to spread and circulate throughout society.
Looking ahead, the event aspires to inspire more partners to embrace the values of "EcoRevolve treasures" and "mindful minimal consumption." Together, we can champion green consumption, sustainable living, and the principle of maximizing resource utility, creating an endless cycle of love and sustainability.
Say Goodbye To Overspending, Hello To LITEON’s Unique Circular Economy!
In response to the excessive consumption driven by the 11.11 Shopping Festival, LITEON has pioneered the concept of "-1111 Circular Shopping". With a corporate culture centered on "Easy to work with, Willing to share", LITEON is rallying our employees and partner companies to embrace a minimalist lifestyle. The "-1111 EcoRevolve Shopping Fair" charity market was held in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park on November 11, 2023. The two main avenues of the park, Cultural and Creative Avenue and Coconut Grove Avenue, were filled with a wide variety of charity stalls, ranging from outdoorsy, and hipster, to stalls for families. The event also featured a unique auction of carefully selected items, ranging from special art collections to rare treasures from around the world. With the non-stop excitement, Songshan Cultural and Creative Park was transformed into a "diverse circular universe of treasures" on 11.11! All proceeds from the sale have been donated to diverse NGOs.
A good idea needs the support of good partners! The importance of the circular economy and sustainable thinking in today's society is undeniable. Therefore, in addition to the advocacy of the well-known domestic ESG platform "CSR@CommonWealth", "RT-Mart Zhonglun Store" also actively participated by setting up booths for a charity sale. Moreover, they generously provided 1,000 large eco-friendly bags for attendees to use at the "-1111 EcoRevolve Shopping Fair”. To reduce the waste of packaging materials during logistics and transportation, IKEA provides unlimited second-hand clean cartons for LITEON's employees to transport and package products. Let's work together across different industries to make the most of everything and create new circular value! Let us hunt for “circular treasures” because only products that can be recycled are real treasures. Shopping should also be about "sufficiency". We already have enough things, and sharing with others is true happiness.
