    What You'll Do:

    A Firmware Engineer is a key contributor in the development of embedded firmware for high-power products and power modules. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining firmware that enables reliable operation, monitoring, and control of power electronics systems. The Firmware Engineer works closely with hardware, system, and validation teams to ensure robust firmware solutions aligned with product requirements and customer needs.

    1. Firmware Development: 

    • Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for power module and high-power products, including control, monitoring, protection, and communication functions.

    2. System Integration & Debugging:

    • Collaborate with hardware and system engineers to integrate firmware with power electronics, control circuits, and communication interfaces.

    • Perform firmware bring-up, debugging, and validation on prototype and production hardware.

    3. Control & Power Application Support:

    • Support firmware implementation related to power control algorithms, system state management, fault handling, and diagnostics.

    • Assist in tuning and optimizing firmware performance for reliability, efficiency, and stability of power modules.

    4. Testing & Validation:

    • Develop and execute firmware test plans, including unit testing, integration testing, and system-level validation.

    • Support compliance, reliability, and customer qualification testing activities.

    5. Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Create and maintain firmware design documentation, test reports, and release notes.

    • Work cross-functionally with R&D, manufacturing, and field teams to support product development and issue resolution.

     

    Who You Are:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or a related technical field preferred.
    2. 3–5+ years of experience in embedded firmware development, preferably in power electronics or power module products.
    3. Proficiency in C / C++ for embedded systems.
    4. Experience with microcontrollers, DSPs, or embedded processors used in power applications.
    5. Familiarity with power electronics systems, control concepts, and hardware-firmware interaction.
    6. Experience with debugging tools (e.g., JTAG, logic analyzer, oscilloscope).
    7. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
    8. Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional development environment.
    9. Strong communication skills and a collaborative team mindset.

    1. Power Electronics & Hardware Design
      • Design and develop power electronics circuits for high-power products and power modules, including AC-DC / DC-DC converters, control circuits, and protection mechanisms.
      • Support high-voltage and high-current designs, ensuring performance, efficiency, and reliability.
    2. System & Cross-Functional Collaboration
      • Collaborate with firmware and software engineers to define hardware interfaces and support system-level integration.
      • Work closely with system and mechanical teams on rack enclosure, thermal, and liquid cooling solutions.
    3. PCB Design & Validation
      • Lead or support schematic design, PCB layout review, and design verification for power hardware.

    4. Compliance, Testing & Reliability
      • Support hardware testing for safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements (EMI/EMC, reliability, and environmental testing).
      • Assist with root cause analysis and corrective actions for hardware-related issues during development and production.
    5. Documentation & Industry Awareness
      • Create and maintain hardware design documentation, specifications, and test reports.
      • Stay current with power electronics industry trends, renewable energy applications, and energy efficiency technologies.
      • Conduct competitive analysis related to power hardware design and solutions.

     

    Who You Are:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or a related field preferred.
    2. 5+ years of experience in high-power product or power module hardware design.
    3. Strong knowledge of power electronics, high-voltage systems, and control hardware.

    2. Networking & Communication

    • Develop and maintain network-based communication interfaces for power management systems (e.g., Ethernet-based protocols, TCP/IP, REST APIs, or message-based services).

    • Support integration with data centers, IT infrastructure, and remote management platforms.

    3. System Integration & Collaboration

    • Collaborate with firmware, electrical, and system engineers to integrate software with controller hardware, power modules, and field devices.

    • Support system bring-up, integration testing, and issue resolution across software, firmware, and hardware layers.

    4. Reliability, Security & Performance

    • Ensure software reliability, performance, and scalability for continuous operation in high-availability environments.

    • Support basic network security, access control, and system hardening aligned with IT best practices.

    5.  Testing, Documentation & Support

    • Develop and execute software test plans, including functional, integration, and system-level testing.

    • Create and maintain software documentation, interface specifications, and release notes.

    • Provide technical support for internal teams and customer-facing issues related to power management software.

     

    Who You Are:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field preferred.
    2. 3–5+ years of experience in software development for system controllers, embedded Linux systems, or industrial / infrastructure software.
    3. Proficiency in C / C++, Python, or other system-level programming languages.
    4. Solid experience with IT networking concepts, including TCP/IP, Ethernet, routing basics, and network-based system integration.
    5. Experience developing or integrating networked management systems, controllers, or distributed systems.
    6. Familiarity with Linux-based systems, system services, and process management.
    7. Strong problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and ability to debug complex system issues.
    8. Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, fast-paced engineering environment.

    What You'll Do:
    A Power Field Application Engineer (FAE) is a key player in bridging the gap between a company's technical products or services and its target audience. This role will support our power supply products, and provides technical support to West Coast customers, Specifically Cisco. The FAE will collaborate with Asia-based engineering teams on new product introductions.
    ● Field Application Engineer located in Milpitas, CA Onsite serves as West-coast regional FAE for 1st tier & 2nd tier customers with immediate responsibility as local support for Cisco account besides supporting all other East to West coast customers in different regions as necessary.
    ● Engage with key AC-DC & DC-DC power supply customers as on-site FAE support to do first level failure analysis.
    ● Proactively identify customer technical issues to determine correct solution selection, quality issues, etc.
    ● Support to resolve field issues at customer sites, including first-level FA, FW and HW rework, etc.
    ● Work with Asian engineering teams for NPI programs, facilitating technical communications, on-site testing and debugging.
    ● Will support all required rework in US & Mexico if required.
    ● Travel US Domestic, Mexico & Asia as needed. Traveling with our commercial team, the Field Application Engineer will be the primary customer interface for all technical discussions

    Who You Are:
    ● Minimum BS’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related plus 5 years’ experience as a Field Electrical Applications Engineer, Design Power Engineer or related.
    ● Require power supply design experience, familiar with power factor correction (PFC) circuit, isolated D/D circuit, voltage and current control, analogy circuitry and basic digital control concept.
    ● Hands on technical experience in Hardware and firmware.
    ● Require Hands-on testing, debugging capabilities.
    ● Familiar with basic lab equipment, such as AC sources, DC sources, DC load, V-meters, oscilloscopes etc.
    ● Experience doing simple SMD circuit rework.
    ● Require good communications and good interpersonal characteristics. Mandarin-speaking is preferred, but not required.
    ● Willing to learn.
    ● Self-motivated personality.

    About the Role:
    Our CIPS team is focused on developing future technology systems to support growth in the rapidly evolving data center sector. The successful candidate will be directly involved in early-stage research projects, working with academic institutions, suppliers, customers, and partners to deliver proof of concept designs.

    Key Responsibilities:
    -Ideation – Identify problems, future needs or market gaps to establish areas of interest. ​
    -Project Definition – Produce clear target requirements that the solution must meet.​
    -Monitor market trends and research to identify breakthrough opportunities in power architectures and converter topologies for data centers.​
    -Drive technical excellence across design, modelling, simulation, prototyping and performance testing of new power conversion topologies, control schemes and components​
    -Oversee critical design reviews and own technical project direction. ​
    -Represent the company as a subject matter expert when engaging with suppliers, customers, and partners. ​
    -Help to create, review and improve research project processes, from idea creation to project transfer deliverables​
    -Identify the skills needed in the team and support recruitment of suitable engineers. ​
    -Work with a commitment to continuous improvement, transparency, and technical expertise.​

     

    Requirements:

    -Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, specialized in Power Electronics, with 2-5 years’ experience. ​

    -Strong understanding of power electronics theory and applications. ​

    -Proficiency in circuit design and simulation tools. ​

    -Experience with embedded systems and digital control of power converters. Familiarity with safety and regulatory standards (UL, IEC, ISO, etc.).
