LITEON LITE-ON TECHNOLOGY CORPORATION

Taipei — LITEON Technology (2301.TW) today announced a strategic investment in DenseLight Photonics ("DenseLight"), a provider of indium phosphide (InP) optical communication components through its Singapore-based operating subsidiary, with a total transaction value of US$34.3 million. Upon closing of the transaction, LITEON will hold approximately 21% equity ownership in DenseLight and secure one seat on the Board.

This strategic investment marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between the two companies in the areas of high-speed optical communications and AI infrastructure. By combining LITEON’s core capabilities in advanced optical packaging, testing, optical module integration and manufacturing, as well as data center power management and system integration, with DenseLight’s expertise in InP laser source technologies and optical communication components, both parties aim to strengthen their positions across the optical communications value chain and expand their presence in the rapidly growing AI data center interconnect market.

The rapid adoption of AI applications is driving increasing demand for high-speed, low-power, and highly reliable optical connectivity technologies in data centers worldwide. DenseLight has built strong expertise in the development and manufacturing of indium phosphide (InP)-based laser source technologies and optical communication components. Its key products include CW DFB lasers, gain chips, and semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs), which are widely used in high-speed optical communications, data center networking, and emerging photonics applications.

Through this strategic partnership, LITEON and DenseLight will deepen collaboration across product development, market expansion, and supply chain integration. Together, the companies will pursue future growth opportunities in high-speed optical communication components, optical modules, optical engines, and rack-scale optical interconnect solutions.

“The AI revolution is accelerating the upgrade of data center infrastructure worldwide, and optical communications have become one of the key enabling technologies for next-generation data centers and high-performance computing,” said Tom Soong, Chairman of LITEON.  “This strategic investment further strengthens LITEON’s presence in the optical communications sector while expanding our opportunities in AI infrastructure applications. Through our partnership with DenseLight, we will leverage our complementary technological and market strengths to capture the growing opportunities in high-speed optical communications and AI data center markets.”

Julian Lee, Chairman of DenseLight, added, “LITEON possesses deep expertise in optoelectronic semiconductors and a comprehensive portfolio of data center solutions. This partnership will not only enhance technology exchange and resource integration between our organizations but also accelerate innovation in high-speed optical communications. Together, we are committed to delivering greater value and advanced solutions to customers in the global cloud computing and AI markets.”
