The Lite-On Awards, the largest industrial design competition for the Greater China community, has launched its 8th annual competition. Chinese and international designers are all invited to submit entries before March 24, 2008 via online application. The combined cash value of the awards is NTD$1.29M.
Sponsored by Lite-On Technology Corporation since 2001, the Lite-On Awards is an industrial design competition created for young designers to develop their talent for creativity and innovation. Over the past seven years, the Lite-On Awards has attracted more than 7,300 contestants and entries. Competition winners have often gone on to the top three global design awards, the iF Awards, the Red Dot Awards, and the IDEA Awards.
The main theme of the 2008 Lite-On Awards is “A Day of Digital Life”, which encourages young designers to create innovative 4C (Computer, Communication, Consumer Electronics, and Car electronics) products to enhance people‘s daily lives in the digital world. New and promising designers from the Chinese community and other countries are invited to participate as individuals or as teams (no more than three persons per team).
