【2010 Theme: Green Evolution: Sailing to the Green Ocean】
Businesses have been putting a lot of thought into how to deal with climate change as well as minimize risk. This holds true whether they pursue “Blue Ocean” or “Red Ocean” strategies, in other words, focusing on developing new markets or cutting costs. Global citizens, for their part, also need to consider how long they can engage in an unbridled consumption of the planet’s resources. The Lite-On Award hopes to inspire a “Green Ocean” strategy, inspiring designers to tread lightly on the earth, co-existence with nature, and revitalize technology through ecological awareness. Therefore, the theme of 2010 Lite-On Award is Green Evolution: Sailing to the Green Ocean. We invite designers to get back to the basics. Let’s think about how to breathe new life into our products through green thinking. Let’s think about how to reconnect to the planet and keep it flourishing.
