Lite-On Technology (2301-tw) today reported December consolidated revenue of NT$21.39 billion, up 0.2% M-o-M and 12% Y-o-Y, hitting a second monthly record high in 2016. Thanks to stable market demand, cumulative sales or the entire year of 2016 reached NT$229.54 billion, up 6% Y-o-Y. Meanwhile, the revenue of fourth quarter reached NT$63.27 billion, up 1% Q-o-Q and 10% Y-o-Y, posted a quarterly record high*.
The Optoelectronics business segment contributed a 26% share of Lite-On’s overall revenue. Thanks to the growing demand from invisible LED, ongoing market share gains in LED components, smooth delivery of LED vehicle lighting, market expansion of street lighting, coupled with increased shipment of high-end camera modules, the Optoelectronics posted revenue growth of approximately 20% Y-o-Y in December.
The Information Technologies business accounted for 51% of total sales with a growth of over 10% Y-o-Y, of which, cloud computing products posted yearly growth, supported by shipment increase of high-end server and networking power management systems as well as high-end server enclosures. Meanwhile, the revenue growth was driven by ongoing market share gains in HIS (Human Input Solutions - PC Keyboards and Peripherals) and delivery growth in laser models of Multi-Function Peripherals.
The Storage business segment accounted for 16% of total sales with a yearly growth of approximately 20%, as a result of increasing end demand for storage devices.
