About Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI)
The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. The indexes are offered as part of a cooperative effort by the SAM (Sustainable Asset Management) Indexes and Dow Jones Indexes. DJSI picks the worldwide top 2,500 companies for the evaluation, tracking their performances in terms of economic, environmental and social criteria and selects the top 10% to be listed as its members. The indexes serve as benchmarks for investors who integrate sustainability considerations into their portfolios, and provide an effective engagement platform for companies who want to adopt sustainable best practices. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes comprise global and regional benchmarks including European, Eurozone, Nordic, North American, US, Asia Pacific, and Korean indexes.
