Lite-On Technology Corp. (TW 2301) today reported September consolidated revenue of NT$10.82 billion, up 4% M-o-M and 6% Y-o-Y, hitting a record two-year monthly high, mainly attributable to the rise in order intakes in Strategic Business Groups, coupled with stable global end-demand. Third-quarter revenue reached 31.29 billion, up 2% Q-o-Q, while cumulative sales from January through September totaled NT$89.39 billion, maintaining the same level as during the same period last year.
In September, thanks to the steady increase in the end-demand of high-end servers, networking equipment and mobile devices for cloud computing applications, Lite-On’s core business units showed sequential growth, of which Power SBG and Connected Devices & System Solutions SBG posted growths of 6% and 7% M-o-M respectively. In Optoelectronics SBG, Camera Module revenue grew by over 10% Y-o-Y, supported by its production capacity expansion, smooth delivery of high-end products and sequential gains in the global market-share of smart-phones and PCs. Thanks to substantial demand from branded customers and delivery growth, revenue from LED lighting components increased approximately 900% Y-o-Y, resulting in Optoelectronics SBG’s revenue growth of 15% Y-o-Y in September.
Additionally, the HIS (Human Input Solutions-PC keyboards and peripherals) business unit in the Mechanical Competence SBG also enjoyed a growth of approximately 10% Y-o-Y, hitting a record sales monthly high in September resulting from Windows 8 PC replacement, increased shipments of keyboards for tablet PCs and ongoing global market share gains in desktop and notebook PCs.
