Lite-On Technology Corp. (TW 2301) is pleased to announce that it has been continuously selected as a leading member of the 2013 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for 3 consecutive years, listed in both DJSI-World and DJSI-Emerging Markets. Lite-On has been ranked first, the Industry Leader of Computers Peripheral and Office Electronics (i.e. Computer Hardware), demonstrating its success in achieving the international standards of sustainability practices.
This year, DJSI invited 3,300 leading companies worldwide to participate in the evaluation, with 94 Taiwan companies taking part in the evaluation. Of those 3,300 candidates, just 333 companies were selected as members in 59 sectors, with just one company named as the “Industry Leader” in each one. Lite-On participated in the Computers Peripheral and Office Electronics (Computer Hardware) industry evaluation and has been selected as a member in both DJSI-World and DJSI-Emerging Markets, as well as been named “Industry Leader”, ahead of leading-edge companies from United States and Japan.
Lite-On was remarkably ranked the highest scores in 9 out of 22 aspects in the Computer Hardware industry. Lite-On’s outstanding performance in all of these respects reaffirmed Lite-On’s strong commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) development for years. Lite-On will continue making steady efforts regarding sustainability performance in all dimensions, working closely with players in the whole supply chain, to the clear benefit of its stakeholders as well as the local and global communities.

The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices were launched in 1999 as the first global sustainability benchmarks. The indices are offered as part of a cooperative effort by Dow Jones Indices and the SAM (Sustainable Asset Management). DJSI invites the worldwide top 3,300 companies of 59 industries for the evaluation, tracking their performances in terms of economic, environmental and social dimensions and selects the top 10% of each industry to be listed as its members.
