LITE-ON Technology Corp. (TW 2301) is pleased to announce that it has been continuously selected as a member of the 2019 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for nine consecutive years and listed in the Industry of Computer & Peripherals and Office Electronics of DJSI-Emerging Markets, demonstrating its success in achieving the international standards of sustainability practices.

LITE-ON achieved in first in the industry for the four criteria: Materiality, Policy Influence, Tax Strategy, and Climate Strategy, which shows that LITE-ON’s sustainability performance is highly recognized by its stakeholders. In Taiwan, LITE-ON took a lead to establish the first Corporate Sustainability Committee (CSR Committee) directly reporting to the board of directors. LITE-ON is also the second company to set the climate goal, carbon emission reduction per unit of revenue by 39.3% by 2025 compared to the base year 2014, approved by the Science-based Target (SBT) in Taiwan. Moreover, combining the company’s core competence with environmental protection concept, LITE-ON launched the SEA HOPE project applying circular economy model to modify recycled Styrofoam marine debris into recycled plastic resin, and further use the materials to produce computing peripheral products, such as keyboards, mice, etc., while enhancing LITE-ON’s green product design.

LITE-ON has been included in the Constituent MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes for six consecutive years, and certified as a constituent in the FTSE4Good Emerging Index as well as FTSE4Good Taiwan Index Plus (TIP) Taiwan ESG Index. Moreover, LITE-ON was also ranked on the Top 5% listed companies of 2019 Corporate Governance Evaluation by Taiwan Stock Exchange, awarded “Corporate Citizenship” Award from Common Wealth Magazine for 13th straight year, awarded the Paragon Prize in the annual overall CSR survey of 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Award from Global Views Magazine as well as Platinum Award in Electronic Information Manufacturing group of 2018 Corporate Sustainability Report Awards from TCSA.
