LITE-ON JOINS FORCES WITH CHINA AERI AND LAUNCH THE RESEARCH HEADQUARTER IN TIANJIN

Boost competitiveness in Smart Car development in Asia for catching the global wave

 

Taipei, Taiwan – August 30, 2017 - LITE-ON has been deeply observed industrial trends, and it sees a bright future and business opportunities of Smart Car. Therefore, today, following the agreement signed between LITE-ON and China AERI (Automotive Engineering Research Institute) this April, Tom Soong, the CEO of LITE-ON Smart Life and Applications (SLA) SBG leads Michael Wang, GM of Automotive Electronics SBU, Allen Liao, GM of Smart Vehicle Applications (SVA) SBU, TC Wang, CTO of SVA, Ken Cheng, GM of Industrial Automation SBU and Tony An, CMO of SLA to Tianjin and launches the research headquarter located in CATARC (Tianjin) Automotive Technology InnovationPark with the representatives of China AERI and the local government. By integrating China AERI’s resources and technologies and LITE-ON’s Research and Development (R&D) talents and manufacturing capacity which meets the world-class automotive companies’ standards, it will increase the momentum in smart car field. From Tianjin, LITE-ON and China AERI are going to lead the in depth development of Smart Car and ready for the global competition.

 

LITE-ON has been dedicated in automotive electronic area for more than four decades. It focuses on HUD (Head Up Display), automation modules, surrounding cameras, entertainment devices, wireless charging technologies and car lights etc. The automation products are highly acclaimed by the customers and has 25% of market share in Asia. In the recent years, the Automotive Electronics and Smart Vehicle Applications SBUs have had insights on V2X and invested in relating fields, including Telematics Box and V2X technologies. Successfully accomplish the instant communication of V2V and V2I by DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communications). Besides, LITE-ON’s ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) has been adopted by world’s top automakers, which shows its strong capabilities in R&D and manufacturing.
