Lite-On East China Regional Headquarters Inaugurates New Factories

Lite-On Technology Corporation (2301-TW), a global leader in optoelectronics and high-tech electronics, has inaugurated new factories for its Optoelectronics (LED) and HIS (Human Input Solutions – PC keyboards and peripherals) business units at Lite-On’s East China Regional Headquarters in Wujin, Changzhou, China, in order to continuously expand production capacities for those business units, while improving services by offering closer proximity to Lite-On’s global customers in East China.

The new factories will provide further improvements on efficiencies in Lite-On’s supply chain management, customer services, and cost management. The Optoelectronics manufacturing site in Wujin is Lite-On’s 3rd manufacturing base of LED products and will produce mostly photo-couplers, infrared LED, and white LED products, with major applications for switching power supplies, signage lighting, mobile phones, LED TV backlighting, and general lighting. Initially, a monthly capacity of 500 million pieces at the Wujin facility is expected to help the Optoelectronics (LED) business unit better meet rapidly rising market demand, while taking advantage of Lite-On’s well managed supply chain and cost efficiencies.

Meanwhile, the HIS business unit will commence manufacturing in Wujin of notebook computer keyboards with a monthly production capacity of 1 million units, gradually expanding to 2.5 million units per month by the end of the year. Lite-On’s notebook keyboard business growth will expand greatly following opening of the new factories. Lite-On’s East China Regional Headquarters opened in September of last year, commencing with the production of switching power supplies and expanding to LED and keyboard production. In order to provide customers with a full range of products and convenient services, Lite-On will continuously integrate its supply chain management in East China and improve overall operational efficiencies.
