Lite-On Technology completes the syndicated loan contract of NT$15 billion and €100 million today

Lite-On Technology (TW. 2301) today signed the contract with Citi Bank and other 14 banks for a five-year NT$15 billion syndicated loan. The contract also includes a syndicated loan of €100 million to Lite-On’s subsidiary, Perlos Corp.

Lite-On is one of the few leading companies which can provide the full range of LED and various High Power Supply products globally. Centering on the development of energy-saving products, Lite-On has broadened its business to the field of energy creation in solar power industry and set its forces in establishing “green energy technology” supply chain to further strengthen the next growth momentum of Lite-On Group.

The five-year syndicated loan acts mainly as the refinancing of the existent two-year bank loan will be used for the core business future expansion and to enhance the current ratio in parallel. The loan was oversubscribed by nearly 30 percent, representing the financial community’s full support of Lite-On.

The syndicated loan project has received warm response from various banks. Led by Citi Bank, the deal also involves another 14 banks, including Taipei Fubon Bank, Chinatrust Commercial Bank, Bank SinoPac, Taishin International Bank, Chang Hwa Commercial Bank, Mega International Commercial Bank, Standard Chartered Bank (Taiwan) Ltd, Land Bank of Taiwan, Taiwan Cooperative Bank, First Commercial Bank, Yuanta Commercial Bank, Bank of Taiwan, Entie Commercial Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp.

The interest rate of the five-year NT dollar syndicated loan is set by adding 55 basis points on the 90-day Taiwanese subprime commercial paper’s interest rate. On Euro part, the rate is set by adding 67.5 basis points on Euro Libor.
