Product Green Design and Management
Product Life Cycle Assessment
According to the "CSR code of conduct," and based on the life cycle of thinking, LITEON incorporates the 3R principles (reduce, reuse, and recycle) into green product design, and adheres to the promise to reduce, the impact on the environment. LITEON keeps, environment-related substances under effective control, and develops nontoxic, easy-to-assemble/disassemble, and environmentally friendly products that extend the product life.
Product Life Cycle Assessment and Improvement
Improving product energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact are the core of LITEON's green product design. Although the products are diversified and use a wide range of materials and different processes, LITEON still uses a rigorous life-cycle assessment as its basis method and conducts a detailed inventory according to the ISO 14040/ISO 14044 international standards, Detailed inventory is taken of the five stages of raw materials, manufacturing, transportation,
use, and disposal; at the same time, according to the IEC 62430 specification, the environmental assessments and 3R improvement design principles are integrated into the product development process. Carbon emission calculation and analysis are carried out with the Taiwanese life-cycle assessment software and database DoItPro Version 2020.0003a developed by the ITRI to quantify the environmental benefits at each stage of the life cycle. The cumulative carbon reduction due to the green product design in 202ˇ reached 802,447 tons of CO2e.

Green Mark and Environmental Declarations of Product
Green mark product certification
Green Marks are certifications awarded by national labeling organizations in accordance with ISO 14024, which defines the specifications for various product categories. Products that have been verified by a third party to meet or exceed these specifications receive this label. For instance, Taiwan's EPA Green Mark is granted to high-quality products that rank in the top 20% to 30% for environmental performance among their peers. Other Green Marks generally adhere to similar criteria. Since most LITEON products are produced under ODM or OEM arrangements, many Type I environmental protection labels are primarily intended to assist brand customers in their applications. The applications submitted on behalf of LITEON are listed as follows.
Product carbon footprint declaration
To fulfill its commitment to green product responsibility, LITEON provides customers with comprehensive information about the carbon footprint of its products, using this data as a foundation for designing subsequent lower-carbon products. In 2022, we initiated a large-scale project to catalog the carbon footprints across all product categories. We thoroughly completed the product carbon footprint inventory and performed Full Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) according to ISO 14067:2018 standards for representative products in each category, focusing on those with high shipment volumes, significant revenue, or long-term sales success.
Following the inventory, we conducted a hotspot analysis and set a goal to reduce carbon emissions from next-generation products by at least 5%. In 2023, we implemented a feasibility assessment methodology for carbon reduction plans, evaluating and verifying the potential of these plans for identified carbon emission hotspots. We also integrated the 3R carbon reduction strategy into LITEON’s product development specifications, in alignment with IEC 62430. Our commitment to continuous improvement through the Plan-Do-Check-Act (PDCA) cycle will drive us toward achieving our carbon reduction targets.
Additionally, all LITEON products comply with relevant information and labeling directives. In 2023, the company maintained adherence to laws related to product and service information, with no violations reported. Furthermore, there were no customer complaints concerning health and safety regulations associated with our products and services.
