LITE-ON Named on CDP ‘A List’, the Highest Rank for Leading Effort Against Climate Change

LITE-ON achieved a place on global environmental impact CDP's prestigious ‘A List’, the highest rank for companies in their efforts against climate change and disclosure, based on its climate reporting in 2019. Since 2010, LITE-ON has joined CDP, revealed its carbon emissions information every year, and taken concrete actions to reduce emissions, mitigating climate risks and develop the low-carbon economy. Meanwhile, LITE-ON is also the first Taiwanese company of computers and peripheral equipment manufacturing industry selected for the CDP Leadership A List.

LITE-ON’s Corporate Sustainability Committee (CSR Committee) under the Board of Directors proactively reinforces sustainable governance. With low-carbon products as well as green operations, LITE-ON conducts a low-carbon strategy, extends the carbon management coverage to its value chain, and financializes climate change related risks to support Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) and sets the Science Based Target (SBT). Meanwhile, LITE-ON actively influences its customers and suppliers on carbon reduction through Green House Gas (GHG) Scope 3 inventory and carbon reduction project to enhance its value chain management performance, aiming at reducing its entire value chain GHG emissions of 2,000,000 tonnes by 2030.

LITE-ON has been selected as a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for nine consecutive years and included in the Constituent MSCI ESG Leaders Indexes for six consecutive years. LITE-ON was also ranked on the Top 5% listed companies of 2019 Corporate Governance Evaluation by Taiwan Stock Exchange, certified as a constituent in the FTSE4Good Taiwan Index Plus (TIP) Taiwan ESG Index, awarded “Corporate Citizenship” Award from Common Wealth Magazine for 13th straight year and the Paragon Prize in the annual overall CSR survey of 2019 Corporate Social Responsibility Award from Global Views Magazine. Moreover, LITE-ON also won the Most Prestigious Sustainability Award - Top Ten Domestic Corporates, Climate Leadership Award and Corporate Sustainability Report Platinum Award from TCSA.
