LITE-ON Technology Reports Third Quarter EPS of NT$ 1.34, a Record High for 3 Years

LITE-ON Technology (2301-tw) today reported third quarter consolidated sales of NT$48.2 billion, up 8% Q-o-Q, attributable to the growth from IT and Opto-electronics in AI Smarthome devices, Consumer Electronics and Gaming applications. Thanks to operational efficiency, supply chain management and better product-mix, the third quarter gross profit margin and operating profit margin were 16.2% and 6.7%, up 0.5 and 1.4 percentage point Q-o-Q respectively. Net profit reached NT$3.11 billion with EPS of NT$1.34, up 18% Y-o-Y, a record high for 3 years.

Cumulated sales from January through September 2019 reached NT$133.8 billion, and the gross profit margin and operating profit margin were 15.1% and 5.1%, up 2.1 and 1.5 percentage point Y-o-Y respectively. Net profits totaled NT$6.97 billion with EPS of NT$3.0, up 28% Y-o-Y. Meanwhile, net cash reached NT$33.6 billion after NT$6.9 billion cash dividend distributed at the third quarter end.

The Opto-electronics business contributed a 15% share of total sales. Thanks to the growing demand from invisible LED and ongoing market share gains in LED components, a sequential growth is presented in Opto-electronics.

The Information Technologies business accounted for 67% of total sales. Delivery growth of power supplies for AI Smarthome devices and Consumer Gaming applications, ongoing market share gains in HIS (Human Input Solutions - PC keyboards and peripherals) coupled with the smooth delivery in laser models of multi-function peripherals supported Information Technologies to achieve a revenue growth of approximately 10% Q-o-Q.

The Storage business accounted for 13% of total revenue, up approximately 10% Q-o-Q, thanks mainly to the growth from Optical Disk Drives (ODD) applications.

Stable business development is expected into the fourth quarter, supported by Power Supply and Opto-electronics in Cloud Computing, AI Smarthome devices and gaming applications.
