LITEON Technology (2301-tw) today reported the third-quarter consolidated sales of NT$41.3 billion, up 6% Q-o-Q, excluding disposed SSD, attributable to the growth from Opto-electronics, Power Management in Cloud computing, 5G, AIoT, as well as Notebook PC and Gaming applications. Thanks to the optimized global manufacturing capacities, enhanced product-mix and operational efficiency, the third-quarter gross profit margin and operating profit margin were 19.0% and 9.6%, up 2.8ppt and 2.9ppt Y-o-Y respectively. Operating profit of NT$3.99 billion, up 23% Y-o-Y, hit a record high of both operating profit and its margin, and net profit was NT$2.99 billion with EPS of NT$1.29.

Cumulated sales from January through September 2020 reached NT$115.7 billion, and gross profit margin and operating profit margin were 17.9% and 7.2%, up 2.8ppt and 2.1ppt Y-o-Y respectively. Operating profit was NT$8.39 billion, up 24% Y-o-Y, and net profit totaled NT$8.01 billion with EPS of NT$3.45, up 15% Y-o-Y, hitting a record high of nine-month profit margins and EPS. Meanwhile, net cash reached NT$42.2 billion, thanks to the strong positive free cash flow generated from operation.

The Opto-electronics business contributed a 20% share of total sales. Thanks to the growing demand from invisible LED, 5G and AIoT applications as well as UV LED applied to medical, disinfection, water and air purification, coupled with ongoing shipment growth from both vehicle and outdoor LED lighting, Opto-electronics posted a sales growth of over 10% Q-o-Q in the third quarter.

The Information and Communication Technologies business accounted for 76% of total sales in the third quarter. Growing demand from high-end server and networking power management systems, power supplies for notebook PCs and gaming, coupled with ongoing market share gains in HIS (Human Input Solutions - PC keyboards and peripherals) supported Information and Communication Technologies a sequential growth in the third quarter, excluding disposed SSD.

Looking forward, moderate growth from Power Management in 5G, AIoT and Gaming applications as well as LED related business is expected in the fourth quarter.
