Lite-On Technology Corporation reported the estimated global revenue of May

Lite-On Technology Corporation reported the estimated global revenue of May, 2003 which reached 7.18 billion NT dollars , with a 5% decrease on a MoM basis and a 4% decline on a YoY basis. The decrease was contributed by the slow global economy and weak PC demand.

Adding the revenues of Lite-On IT Technology and Silitech Corporation, the two majorities owned subsidiaries, the estimated global consolidated revenue of May, 2003 reached NT 10.16 billion dollars with a 5 % decrease on a MoM basis.

The revenue of Peripheral and Component Business Group was NT$4.53 billion dollars with a 1 % increase on a YoY basis. The sales of LCD Monitors (170,000 units) were lowered compared with the previous month. The sales of Adapters, LEDs and Keyboards were inline with forecast. Printer and Multi Function Printers remained stable in sales and resulted in NT$1.24 billion dollars for the Image Business Group.

Because of client’s delay for the new models, sales quantity of handsets temporally dropped from 390,000 units last month to 340, 000 units in May. and the revenue reached NT$0.55 billion dollars. The momentum is expected to pick up again next month. The sales of networking and system products contributed NT$0.87 billion dollars to the total revenue.
