Lite-On Technology Corp. (TW 2301) today reported August consolidated revenue of NT$10.40 billion, up 3% M-o-M, mainly attributable to the Strategic Business Groups’ steady order intakes, coupled with stable global end-demand. Cumulative Sales from January through August totaled NT$78.57 billion, maintaining the same level as during the same period last year.
In August, thanks to continuous strong end-demand of mobile devices for cloud computing applications, Lite-on’s core business units showed solid development, of which Camera Module revenue grew by over 10% Y-o-Y, supported by its production capacity expansion, smooth delivery of high-end products and sequential gains in the global market-share of smart-phones and PCs. Meanwhile, the HIS (Human Input Solutions-PC keyboards and peripherals) business unit in the Mechanical Competence SBG also enjoyed a remarkable growth of approximately 20% M-o-M resulting from increased shipments of keyboards for tablet PCs and ongoing global market share gains in desktop and notebook PCs.
Additionally, thanks to substantial demand from branded customers and expanded production, revenue from LED lighting components increased approximately 500% Y-o-Y. This coupled with the increased Camera Module revenue resulted in Optoelectronics SBG’s revenue growth of 11% Y-o-Y and 6% M-o-M in August.
