Environmental Issues Statements

According to “Taiwan Stock Exchange Corporation Procedures for Verification and Disclosure of Material Information of Companies with Listed Securities”, LITE-ON defined significant environmental violation as one liable for the fine over 1 million NTD (about 33,000 USD). There was no significant environment- pollution event transpired in the past 4 years under this definition.

For responsible production and transparency, we also disclosure the fines (> USD $10,000) related to the environmental or ecological issues as below.

2022

No major environmental incident or significant fines (> USD $10,000) related to the issue occurred.

2019- 2021

No major environmental incident or significant fines (> USD $10,000) related to the issue occurred.

2018

In September 2017, our VOCs treatment equipment in Xianning Plant suffers a series of temporary shutdown problem for some unknown reason. We stopped part of equipment for repair but lead to the situation that our VOCs treatment system failed to cover all production department and was fined of 100,000RMB (approximately 15,000USD) in 2018 by the local Environmental Protection Bureau. In order to strengthen our VOCs emissions control, enforce environmental management and guarantee the stability of operation and comply with the emission requirements, we purchased a new serious of VOCs treatment equipment to effectively collect VOCs, and strictly inspects exhaust gas treatment equipment and regularly monitor to ensure that volatile organic compounds emitted meet the local emission standards.

2017

A leased manufacturing factory have not submitted the Environmental Impact Assessment(EIA) in year 2017 that lead to 100,000 RMB (about 15,000 USD) fine by local environmental protection agency. The factory has acquired EIA in April 2018. We have uphold the business principle with honesty and credibility to conduct internal rectification, enforce environmental management and guarantee the stability of operation and comply the emission requirements in order to confirm the sustainable vision of LITE-ON.

2016

No major environmental incident or significant fines (> USD $10,000) related to the issue occurred.
